Experts Assembly Head Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani here Friday invited the west to hold talks with Iran over its peaceful nuclear issue.

"Turning to sanctions and tough actions will bear no result and I am sure you will become regretful," Ayatollah Rafsanjani said in his second sermon to this week's Friday prayers congregation.

Ayatollah Rafsanjani said unfortunately, the arrogant states have not still abandoned Iran's nuclear issue and are after issuance of a third anti-Iran resolution.
